297. Sylvanus MINER

After Sulvanus Miner's father died, his Mother  apprenticed him to a  Mr. McLatchey, who had a farm and blacksmith with whom he stayed from age 7 to 20, and who treated him  very cruelly.  He used the blacksmith trade well and seccured extensive farm lands.

On 10 Apr 1800 his Uncle James Miner was appointed his guardian.  His mother had four years earlier remarried to Edward Phelps.
